A new pavilion is set to be constructed at Tiger Hill in Darjeeling, India, offering an enhanced experience for tourists. Located about 12 kilometres from Darjeeling town at an altitude of 8,500 feet within the Sinchal Wildlife Sanctuary, Tiger Hill is renowned for its breathtaking views.

The pavilion is designed to provide a 270-degree view of the sunrise year-round, allowing visitors to witness the sun rising above the horizon and casting vibrant red-to-orange hues on the majestic Kanchenjunga range. In addition to sunrises, the pavilion will also be an ideal spot for enjoying stunning sunsets.

Equipped with modern amenities, including central heating, the pavilion will ensure comfort for visitors. It will feature an observatory gallery and a deck for an enhanced viewing experience. Additional facilities will include a wellness centre for exercise and yoga, medical services, and parking space for around 1,200 vehicles, making it easier and more enjoyable for tourists to spend time at Tiger Hill.

The new pavilion replaces the previous structure, which was deemed unsafe and dismantled. Norden Sherpa, the executive sabhasad of the GTA's tourism department, explained that the old structure was faulty, leading to the termination of its construction contract. He emphasized that the new pavilion would be a state-of-the-art facility, addressing past safety concerns while enhancing the overall experience for visitors.
